Three students from Otago recently visited Prague where they competed in the world finals of the ACM Collegiate Programming Contest after placing 27th out of 73 teams (from all over the world). On their way to the finals the team, The Pumpkin Lemma, won the New Zealand contest and the top New Zealand place at the South Pacific contest.
This seminar will discuss the contests, the strategies the team took, and what obstacles they encountered on the way. An brief introduction to the contests will be given for those interested in competing in this and future years.
